Pricing Agent

Find the price testthat moves revenue —safely.

The Pricing Agent analyzes your subscription pricing performance across countries, trial lengths, and plan structures. It prescribes one pricing experiment per cycle — a localized price test, a trial-length variant, or a plan tier addition — with expected revenue impact and downside guardrails.

What it does

The Pricing Agent looks at your subscription revenue, conversion rate, and refund rate by country, plan, and trial length. It identifies markets and segments where your current price is leaving money on the table — or where a price drop would unlock disproportionate volume.

Most apps use a single global price. The Pricing Agent surfaces the markets where a localized price would change behavior — for example, halving the price in a high-volume / low-PPP country can 3-5x revenue from that market without affecting your core US/EU pricing.

Every recommendation includes downside guardrails: if the test causes a refund-rate spike or revenue drop beyond a threshold, the agent automatically flags it for rollback.

How it works

  1. 01

    Pull pricing data

Reads MRR, ARPU, conversion rate, and refund rate by country, plan, and trial length from RevenueCat.

  2. 02

    Estimate elasticity

Compares your performance to industry benchmarks and historical changes to estimate price elasticity by segment.

  3. 03

    Propose one experiment

Surfaces a single pricing test — localized price, trial length, or plan addition — with expected revenue impact and a downside guardrail.

  4. 04

    Watch the experiment

Monitors revenue, conversion, and refund rate during the test and flags rollback if guardrails trip.

Sample weekly recommendation

"Your global $79.99/yr is converting at 2.1% in Brazil (vs 3.8% global average) and contributes 4% of revenue. Test a Brazil-localized $39.99/yr (50% off) for 30 days. Expected revenue lift on Brazil cohort: 2.4-3.1x. Guardrail: if global ARPU drops more than 1.5%, roll back automatically."

Frequently asked questions

On Growth and Studio plans, AppApex can stage pricing changes in App Store Connect for your approval. Apple's pricing change rules apply (24-72 hour propagation depending on type).

It uses your historical pricing changes plus industry benchmarks for similar app categories and price tiers. The estimate is a range, and it explicitly tells you when there is not enough data to recommend a confident change.

Every test ships with a downside guardrail — typically a maximum allowable drop in global ARPU or a maximum refund rate spike. The agent monitors these daily and recommends rollback if breached.

Yes. Trial-length experiments (3-day vs 7-day vs 14-day) are first-class. The agent will recommend trial-length tests when the data suggests your current trial length is suboptimal.

It will not recommend overlapping tests in the same market because that contaminates attribution. You can manually run parallel tests in different markets if you want.
